5 Expensive Watches Sold at UNREAL Prices on Auctions
The auction world is crazy, people pay millions of dollars every year for antiques, cars, coins and even stuff like a lunch with Warren Buffet. This time we gathered a list of 10 most expensive watches ever sold on auctions as of 2019. So without further ado, let’s dive into it.
Patek Philippe Henry Graves Supercomplication (1932)

The watch was commissioned by Henry Graves Jr, who wanted to outdo the Grande Compilation Pocketwatch of American automaker James Ward Packard.
The watch was sold for $23,983,000 at Sotheby’s in Geneva.
Rolex Paul Newman Daytona Ref. 6230 (1968)
The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona was designed to accompany racers and help them measure elapsed time and calculate average speed. This specific model – Daytona Ref. 6230 became famous because it was worn by Paul Newman and even was known as – Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona. It was a gift to him from his wife Joanne Woodward. In 1984 the watch was gifted to his daughter’s boyfriend.
In 2017 it was sold for a record (for wristwatches) $17,753,000.
Patek Philippe Stainless Steel Ref. 1518 (1943)

Patek Philippe Stainless Steel Ref. 5016A-010 (2015)

This watch was sold for $7,259,000 in Phillips in Geneva.
Patek Philippe Titanium Ref. 5208T-010 (2017)
This model of Patek Philippe is the most recently produced one on our list. This one was also made for the “Only Watch” charity auction benefiting the research for muscular dystrophy. In 2017 Only Watch took place at Christie’s in Geneva.
The watch is a self-winding minute repeater. It has a chronograph and a perpetual calendar, which indicates changes between day and night. Unlike 2015 version, this one has titanium casing instead of stainless steel. Buyers get to choose between two casebacks – one in titanium and one emblazoned with sapphire crystal.
The watch was sold for $6,226,000.
In case you are looking for a watch to buy, you’ve got two main choices – buy it online or just get it on retail/auction. Getting it on retail/auction is pretty simple and we are not going to start explaining how you can do that, but getting a watch online can be a bit complicated.
If you want to get something unique, or a good product for cheaper price, you might want to check out eBay and Delcampe auctions. Try finding the watches that interest you. But remember: to successfully bid on eBay and Delcampe auctions you need to bid during the last seconds of the auction (this strategy is called sniping), therefore you need to be online when the auction ends. At the end of the day, you want to get a watch, not waste time bidding, that’s why auction snipers like iSnipe.io might come handy for you. All you need to do is: copy the link of the auction you want to win, paste it in the iSnipe link box, type in the maximum price you are willing to pay for it and that’s it! – iSnipe will take care of the rest. Our system will bid on your behalf using the sniping strategy.
